‘’Şahmaran Muzik Toplulugu (Şahmaran music Society) is an ethnic music group dominated most of its art with Anatolian Folk music. Their performances generally describe the cultures and experiences of the peoples who lived within Anatolia and Mesopotamia.

Performances are generally Turkish & Kurdish, Zazaki, Armenian and the mysterious songs of the Alevi path. The songs are spiritual and reference to love, tolerance, peace, human behaviour and the struggle against injustice.

The group was founded in London in 2017 by Melek, Gülten, Sidal, Eren, Erdem, Ecem and Eren under the leadership of Barış Baran. All of which were Baris Baran’s former music students. Majority of the group members are of Anatolian origin.

The group took its name from the very old mythological tale Sahmaran, which is known in many countries of the world. Sahmaran's mythological story as known to be half woman, half a snake creature.

The motto of the group is: Regardless of Language, Religion or Colour, The Good are Good.’’
